As a teacher and SENCO of 15 years, I am passionate about helping learners who struggle.  I have worked for a number of years, part-time, in an Alternative Provision for 11-18-year-old pupils who struggle to access school.  Working with them made me realise just how important it is to understand their learning style.  

I have worked as a private tutor alongside the AP for the last 5 years, working with ages 4 to mid-40s, almost exclusively online.  Seeing the smile or sharing a success they never thought they'd have is what makes me love my job.

My passion to make things better for learners let down by traditional schooling led me to pursue specialist teaching qualifications in dyslexia and dyscalculia, which then culminated in qualifications to diagnose both.

When I'm not teaching and assessing I have a printing and embroidery business, which is a lovely change from the challenges of education.
